New Year's Eve Party Ideas 2026: Celestial Gold, a Disco and Champagne at Home

New Year's Eve is the party people forget to plan, because Christmas has used up all the planning. So here is the short version: gold stars, candles, one disco ball, and everything bought before the twentieth of December when deliveries get slow. Three ways to do it, from a family night in to a proper party. ✨

New Year's Eve one: celestial and gold ⭐

The grown-up one. The Celestial New Year Party Garland Set is new from Meri Meri this year and is stars, moons and a Happy New Year banner in gold and ivory. Hang it over the table, put the Ivory Celestial Table Candles x 2 and the Mixed Star Taper Candles x 2 down the middle, and serve everything on the Gold Stripe Star Party Plates x 8.

At midnight, the Celestial Glitter Star Party Crowns x 8 - eight glitter star crowns, which is the photo. The Glitter Gold Stars Party Garland and the Fabric Gold Star Party Garland are the two to add if you want more sparkle on the walls.

New Year's Eve two: the disco 🪩

For a party with dancing. The Disco Ball Large Party Plates x 8, Disco Ball Party Cups x 8 and Disco Ball Party Napkins x 16 are a silver disco ball on every piece, and the Groovy Dance Party Garland Set and Groovy Flower Hanging Decorations x 7 turn the ceiling into 1975. Add the Gold Stripy Bow Christmas Table Candles x 2 left over from Christmas and a real disco ball if you have one.

New Year's Eve three: champagne at home 🥂

The one for two couples and a bottle. The Let's Party Champagne Party Plates x 8 and the Champagne & Gold Wavy Party Cups x 8 from Hootyballoo are £5.99 each and do the whole table, and the Glitter Gold Stars Party Garland across the mantelpiece is the only decoration you need. Put the Gold Star Cookie Cutters x 3 to work on the cheese straws.

The 2027 balloons 🎈

Four gold numbers on the wall and it is a New Year's Eve party. The 34 inch gold silk number balloons come in every digit, air fill (no helium), and they stay up for days - so two, zero, two, seven, and the seven is the one to buy before everyone else does.

New Year's Eve with children 🧒

Do midnight at eight. The star crowns and the disco plates work exactly the same, the countdown is to a cartoon on the telly, and the gold star gift bags with a chocolate coin and a sparkler send them to bed happy. Then the grown-ups get the real one.
